Why HarperLloyd?

Incorporated in 2024, HarperLloyd was designed to bring a more personalised approach to legal recruitment. Our team aren't about the 'bums on seats' approach to recruitment but about connecting the right candidate with the right organisation.

We've sat on your side of the table.
Our backgrounds in HR, internal recruitment and legal mean we understand what successful hiring looks like, not just how to fill a vacancy.

We're specialists, not generalists.
Legal recruitment is all we do. Every consultant is dedicated to the legal market, giving our clients deeper market knowledge and stronger candidate networks.

We're partners, not suppliers.
From salary benchmarking and market insights to recruitment strategy and talent mapping, we become an extension of your hiring team.

We prioritise long-term success.
Our focus is on quality, relationships and lasting placements, not KPIs or sending the most CVs.

Behind  HarperLloyd Recruitment

After practising as a disputes lawyer for a number of years in top-tier and national law firms, Zak followed his passion for building strong relationships making the shift to human resources and recruitment. During his time in recruitment, Zak has worked in a national agency placing lawyers across boutique, mid-tier, top-tier and international firms as well as in-house and in government. He then worked internally for global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills in their HR and recruitment team in Brisbane.

It is through his experience as a lawyer, and in agency and internal recruitment, that he has garnered a comprehensive understanding of the national legal market and the firms operating within it. This has allowed him to partner candidates with a firm that aligns best with the lawyer’s goals and values.

Gretta has been working in the legal industry since she first joined the workforce at 18. Gretta entered her first law firm as an office junior and eventually grew to being a dual admin state manager of a national plaintiff firm. Throughout her career, she has worked as an office junior, receptionist, legal secretary, HR manager, office manager, practice manager, and a business services manager. In these roles, Gretta has recruited staff for over eight years.

Gretta’s strong experience has helped her develop a vital understanding of legal support, and recruitment practices. She has handled end-to-end recruitment processes for all levels across operations, finance, admin, and HR. She prides herself on building long-lasting business relationships with both clients and candidates and is lucky enough to have an extensive network to utilise to find the right candidate for the right job.
